Remarks:
The ticket bears Eduard Glaser's signature. One of the attractions of the Industrial Exposition was the German Colonial Exhibition.
The German Colonial Exhibition (Deutsche Kolonialausstellung) featured recreations of villages from East Africa, Togo, Cameroon and New Guinea. Within the framework of a 'Völkerschau' (ethnological show) 106 people from the German colonies were put on display in front of an audience of millions 'to give an authentic impression'. [Many of them were not aware that they were to be 'exhibited' and some ot them resisted the role assigned to them.]
In the 'Cairo`section, the small bazaar streets of the Cairo's historic centre were recreated with an Arab Café and a mosque. A pyramid was erected along with a small Egyptian farming village. A lift ran alongside the pyramid to the top and served as a viewing point.
