'Cher Monsieur Glaser, J'ai reçu votre CP du 23/9 (?) et la nouvelle relativement bonne sur l'amélioration de votre santé me donne bien de satisfaction. De ma part je vous confirme ma lettre du 16 Août que j'espère en vos mains.
... L'Yemen est en ruine. Votre idée d'aller passer l'hiver en Egypte est très bonne, ... ... Imaginez au contraire ces pauvres Juifs, auxquels le gouvernement n'a pas donné un sous. ...Ils en meurent chaque jours beaucoup (sic), et ils meurent de faim. ... Cher M. Glaser, si vou pouvez publier dans quelque journal un appel en faveur de ces pauvres. (p. 3) ... Short description:
The Italian merchant Giuseppe Caprotti (1862-1919), resident in Ṣanʿāʾ, discusses the political situation in Yemen, informing Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) that the Jews are particularly suffering from the rise in food prices.
Since requests for assistance submitted to the 'Alliance Israélite' have remained unanswered, he asks Glaser to launch an appeal for the poor Jews in a daily newspaper...
