'Cher Monsieur Glaser Je vous confirme mes lettres du 13 Octobre et 2 Novembre, restées sans réponse; probablement ne vous sont pas arrivées; pour cela je vous envoie la présente par l'entremise de mon frère.
Je vous avais déjà envoyé la copie du reçu de Magaoul concernant les 250 fcs que je lui ai payé p. votre compte. ...
J'espère que votre santé sera bonne. Ici pas de nouveauté; la misère et le thiphus font des ravages enormes. (sic) A. A. est mort le 24 Xbre de thiphus. Agréez mes cordiales salutations G. Caprotti.'
Short description:
Since his two previous letters remained unanswered, the Italian merchant Giuseppe Caprotti (1862-1919), resident in Ṣanʿāʾ, sends this letter via his brother (Carlo Caprotti) in Magenta. He requests Eduard Glaser to reimburse the amounts he had paid to his agent Magaoul, plus the shipping costs.
