'A son temps j'ai reçu par M. le Prof. Dr. Edouard Glaser v/ déclaration en date 26/9 98 pour l'achat d'une monnaie en or abyssine, de mon frère Giuseppe, le payement de laquelle vous l'avez fixé définitivement au cours du mois de Mars 1899.
Pour cela je me permette de vous prier à disposer pour la rémise des 600 Marks convenus à mon adresse à Magenta. (sic) Vous pouvez bien détacher une feuille de chèque per (sic) quelque banque.
En vous priant à m'excuser, agréez Monsieur avec mes remerciements, mes sincères salutations v/ très devoué Carlo Caprotti'
Short description:
In his letter to the German numismatist Hans Riggauer (1849–1907), director of the then Royal Coin Collection in Munich, Carlo Caprotti - brother of the Italian merchant Giuseppe Caprotti (1862-1919), resident in Ṣanʿāʾ - asks for the transfer of 600 Marks reg. the sale of a gold coin originating from Abyssinia --> a deal that appears to have been brokered by Eduard Glaser (1855-1908).
